Programming: Update, long time no speak
Friday, November 18, 2005 - 07:37 PM
Ok, Sorry for being unavailable for so long...
Things around the house have been busy (as you can imagine).. I have continued working full-time, trying to spend time with family, and trying to work towards my College degree.
As you can imagine, not much time leftover for coding.. I am however working on a few things, as you can see at http://wiki.wolfmods.com, I am working on forking PostCalendar, this is a big undertaking and the initial release of WolfCal will be a pn-standardized, pnRender templated module. If you are a coder you know what an undertaking this is.

New Game Added
Thursday, December 23, 2004 - 03:13 PM
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Greetings And Welcome!!
Just wanted to let you know I added a new game to the mix. It's called "Legend Of The Green Dragon" it is modeled/inspired by Seth Ables "Legend of the Red Dragon( AKA LORD) which was another old BBS game. I believe the only one that was ever registered on "The Bomb Shelter BBS".. Anyways if you're into roleplaying I think you will enjoy it. I am still tweaking the game, but it already has a lot to offer.
Link is Here or on the main menu.

Theme Update
Friday, October 29, 2004 - 04:49 AM
I update the theme, tried to match my old one fairly closely. I will be tweaking it over the next few weeks, but it's my first attempt at an Xanthia theme.
If you liked the old one better, for the time being it is available as "Silver-Wolf" via the "my account" menu

9-27-04 Site Update
Tuesday, September 28, 2004 - 03:32 AM
Hi, Just wanted to put an update out here.
1st thing: I updated the forums to PNphpBB2 Ver 1.2g. There are several features added one of which is file attachments allowed in posts now. I think this might help further development. If I see it being abused I might need to turn it off.
2nd, I continue to work on JobNet/EventReg as I get time. Things continue to be hectic around my household. I turned 24 over the weekend, didn't do a whole lot for my birthday but thats alright. Spent time with my family thats what counts =)
On a side-note We are going through an awesome series at church, entitled "Extreame Makeover: Family Edition" . I highly recomend it, take a look at http://www.chapel.org The sermons are available online in real format. Let me know what you think about it! I'm eager to get some christian discussions going. I think this might be a good topic to start with!
Thanks, and god bless

The site is NOT Moving
Wednesday, April 28, 2004 - 12:38 AM
I wanted to let everyone who saw the message saying we were moving is not true.
I guess I should take it as a compliment that we were in the sites if a so-called "Hacker". I mean why mess with us if we don’t have some kind of value.
I must apologize I do not know how long that was up for, I removed it as soon as I noticed it. Despite the individual changing my password.
I have also updated all postnuke files, and subscribed to the postnuke Security list, so in the future I can make updates before someone takes advantage of a publicly posted exploit.
If you see anything like this feel free to send me a message letting me no, my email is nuclearw AT silver-wolf DOT com
replace capital words with there corresponding keys (@ and .)
Thanks,

Update 3-22-04
Monday, March 22, 2004 - 02:48 PM
Well, it is amazing how time flies, It is now over a month since my last article post on this website, I am pleased to announce the launch of the re-designed www.chapel.org website using PostNuke & A customized theme. Please take a look at it and let me know what you think!
I am not entirely sure what this new site will entail at the moment, I am hoping for at least a little while it will remain maintenance-free, so I can start working on a few other projects I have on my plate. We will see soon I belive.
I would like to see the forums take off a little bit, Feature requests for eventreg, or anything else. If have an idea for a topic that is not out there feel free to suggest it to me, I might put it up!
Thanks and god bless,
Erik

Mery Christmas!
Thursday, December 25, 2003 - 06:57 PM
I though I would do a quick check in and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, this is the season that seems to be stressfull for a lot of people, so my wish is that everyone gets a few moments to relax.
My family and I went to the Christmas Eve service at our church, and we really enjoyed it.
This day (along with the rest of the year) is supposed to help us remember Christ, the baby born today.
But we also need to remember what he did for us. And in turn we should all seek to give ourselves as he has done for us.
I'm sorry I am not good putting thoughts like this into words, I hope you understand my meaning.
And kind of a "Note to self" PostNuke has a lovely "Publish later" option ... I should make a message like this in advance =)
Thanks, and god bless!

I'm sorry if you keep getting "Problem with database connection" errors, I transfered to a new webhost http://www.1and1.com they are offering 3 years of free webhosting through 1/14/04 with there Pre-Launch promotion.
But it seems like there is an issue with there Mysql connectivity (at least today) I will open a service ticket and see what the response is, and I will post that here later.

Update 11-16-03
Monday, November 17, 2003 - 09:15 AM
I just wanted to let you all know I am still here, I know it has been a while since any updates out here. I am working on a few things when I get a chance to, and there are some bug fixes I am working on with EventReg, hopefully I will be able to release something soon. I will keep posting status updates here.
At the moment though I have several things I need to take care of. I have 3 things going on that are demanding a lot of my "Free" time and working the 2 hasn't been helping much ={
I keep trying to update the forums when I get a chance, and I must admin there was a problem that I was going to look into but forgot to for a week or so. The issue with users getting "No Access" errors when trying to register for an event. If anyone has any suggestions for me on that please let me know.
It seems as though the PN Security is a little more tricky than I had thought.
Thanks for all your support,
Erik
eventreg update 10-10-03
Friday, October 10, 2003 - 05:44 PM
Well, I have not seen a big response to the module, A few topics got discussed in the forums, I have completed the language addon for the user & admin user interfaces, but have not done any of the debugging/error strings yet.
I will continue to work on these with the hope that I will be releasing another file soon.
Also in the process of doing this I noticed a few bugs, and one linke that just didnt make sense to me. I will be updateing that as well, so the next release will be a bug fix as well as language addon.
Thanks for visiting!
BTW, I have updated this site with the changes sofar, Take a look and please let me know any comments/suggestions/ways to improve the look/feel or functionality!

Update 9-26-2003
Saturday, September 27, 2003 - 09:07 AM
I Meant to leave some kind of update yesterday, it was my birthday so I was kind of distracted. I got a little more done with the user registration piece.... there isn't a lot left for me to do with it. to have a fully functional initial release I will still be have something released by the end of the month.
Woohoo, a couple more users signed up I think I am up to about 10 now!
Thanks to everyone that has signed up.
Misc Update 9-11-03
Friday, September 12, 2003 - 04:12 AM
Well today is an interesting day, I don't know what everyone else feels about Sept 11, but it seems like the tradition for many years will be to focus on what happened back in 2001 on this day.
I don't have the words to describe what I feel about the whole situation, and yet as I was going to post this update, I felt the need to at least say somthing..
I have a quick update about the site in general, it is not specifically about the eventreg module, I have not spent a whole lot of time on eventreg over the past couple of days, but I have been addressing another concern that was brought up by the leader of the web ministry of my church(the chapel) and I have found a solution.
There was an issue being brought up. They wanted to be able to switch themes between "Ministry" sites on the fly, and in the process of trying to work that out I came up with something a bit differant/and the same depending on how it is applied.
I modified some of the files from the "NS-Multisites" addon, and made it possible to use multisites by adding symlinks and my modified script you could use multisites from a socalled "Sub-directory" .....
I may or may not have confused you at the moment.... As soon as I get the eventreg released I will work on a work instruction for it.....
eventreg update 9-8-03
Monday, September 08, 2003 - 08:00 PM
After just typing this and forgeting the topic, here I go again =)
I have decided not to show any screenshots at the moment, I realize this is not a video game, and I don't know if the text would really impress anybody.

eventreg update 8-29-03
Saturday, August 30, 2003 - 02:48 AM
Hey, Welcome to silver-wolf.com
I have continued working twards the first release of the event registration module, I might post a few screenshots of how it looks at present. I will decide in the next day or so.
I am now probably about halfway through the user module functions. As I am learning more and more about PHP, the more I am growing to love it. This is my first project ever looking at php, let alone coding for PostNuke, and it has been an experiance.
I still dont have anybody registering, I am really curious who is stopping by, and where you are coming from. Please send me either an e-mail to webmaster@silver-wolf.com, or a private message to me through postnuke!
Thanks,
nuclearw
